The Lake County Health Department is reporting 42 new cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Lake County since Friday afternoon. This brings the total number of Lake County residents testing positive for the disease to 264 (as of March 28, 2020, 1:45 p.m.)
The Lake County Health Department has discovered several people who attended the North Shore Christian Quad City Revival in North Chicago the week of March 15 - March 20, have tested positive for COVID-19. If you attended these events and are experiencing symptoms, please stay home. As a reminder, having attended the event is not reason enough to be tested for COVID-19, but if you experience worsening symptoms contact your healthcare provider.
"I can’t emphasize it enough - stay home and if it’s essential you leave, social distancing is a must," said Lake County Health Department Executive Director Mark Pfister. "It is safe for everyone to assume COVID-19 is in every community. Close interactions with an infected person will likely result in the spreading of the virus to yourself and others, so please do your part to slow the spread."
