The Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people for driving under the influence of alcohol and issued 26 seatbelt citations during the St. Patrick’s Day traffic safety campaign.  A total of 57 other citations were issued during the campaign which ran from March 12 through March 18.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office joined with state and local law enforcement as well as highway safety partners during the St. Patrick’s Day campaign. 

The law enforcement effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
