The Lake County Sheriff’s Office will conduct DUI patrols beginning May 16th through Memorial Day weekend. In recent years, Illinois has experienced reductions in motor vehicle crash fatalities. While this is good news, there is still work to be done to make Illinois roads as safe as possible.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office along with other Lake County and Illinois law enforcement agencies will be on high alert during the summer holiday season to conduct traffic safety enforcement focusing on speed, seat belt use, and impaired drivers. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office urges the motoring public to drive sober and safely.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Memorial Day enforcement effort is funded with federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
