On January 30, 2020, the Lake County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Group concluded a long-term investigation which resulted in the arrest of an unincorporated Spring Grove man for selling crack cocaine.
The investigation revealed Derrius L. Crenshaw, 26, of the 38000 block of North Harold Place, unincorporated Spring Grove, was dealing cocaine. On January 30th, following the investigation, members of the Special Investigations Group and Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Team conducted a search warrant at Crenshaw’s residence. The search warrant resulted in locating over 70 grams of crack cocaine packaged for distribution.
Crenshaw was arrested and the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the charges:
Unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (class X felony)
Unlawful possession of a controlled substance (class 1 felony)
Crenshaw remains held pending an initial court hearing today.
Sheriff John Idleburg said, “This is yet another example of our Special Investigations Group, which consists of both federal and local law-enforcement, working hard to identify and arrest a drug dealer. Last year was a record year for the amount of drugs seized, and this year will be no different. We will not tolerate drug dealers selling their poisons in our community.”
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
