On October 13, 2019, at approximately 9:10AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Route 22 and Miranda Lane, Long Grove, for a traffic crash with injuries. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and found the driver of a 2007 Toyota Sienna, a 63-year-old male of Unincorporated Deerfield, unresponsive. Sheriff’s Deputies initiated life-saving efforts on the man until relieved by Long Grove Fire Protection District Paramedics.
Preliminary investigation shows the Toyota was traveling eastbound on Route 22 at a slow rate of speed. For an unknown reason the driver veered across the westbound lanes, into the ditch, and struck several trees.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit and crash investigators are working to determine if this crash could be medically related.
