[ARCHIVED] Labor Day Traffic Safety Campaign Results

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office made three impaired driving arrests and issued 62 seat belt citations during the recent Labor Day ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ traffic safety campaign.  A total of 162 citations were issued during the campaign.

Sheriff John Idleburg said, “Keeping people safe on our roadways is a significant priority of our Patrol Division.  We far too often see the tragic aftereffects caused when someone makes the reckless decision to drive drunk or high.  The choice is simple, drive sober or get pulled over!”

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with law enforcement throughout the State of Illinois for the ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign.

The Illinois ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ program is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation with federal funding managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
