[ARCHIVED] Free Naloxone Training and Opioid Overdose Awareness Event

According to the National Safety Council, drug poisoning is the number-one cause of unintentional death in the United States. International Overdose Awareness Day is held on August 31 to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a drug-related death.

People who use drugs, their loved ones, and community members are invited to a FREE event to learn how to prevent opioid overdoses. 

Tuesday, September 24, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Waukegan Public Library, Ray Bradbury Room

  • Learn about the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose
  • Learn how to use the lifesaving antidote naloxone, which can reverse an opioid overdose 
  • Discover local resources, including harm reduction services available in Lake County.
