The Lake County Treasurer's Office and United Way have partnered together for "Stuff the Bus" to collect supplies for children in need. Treasurer Kim is a strong advocate for community reinvestment and believes in maintaining strong relationships with organizations such as United Way Lake County.
Bobbie
Selvick, Community Engagement Manager for United Way of Lake County shared these
thoughts in regard to this initiative. "United Way of Lake County has been
thrilled by the level of community support surrounding our Stuff the Bus school
supply drive. As soon as we launched in May, many local companies and
individuals reached out to ask how they could get involved. Our goal is to
fill 500 backpacks with fresh supplies and donate them to families in need so
their children can start the new school year confident and ready to
learn. With the help of our community, we are hoping to not only reach
that goal but to surpass it and help even more families start school in
August."
