It was our intent to provide this information promptly to all those impacted. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We will continue to provide updates here.
Knollwood Water System Boil Order Addresses
Vernon Hills Water System Boil Order Addresses
Sections of the Vernon Hills water system lost pressure and or water service for about an hour on June 18. The problem has been resolved and service has been restored but the water pressure in the New Century Town, Forest Haven and Mettawa areas went below acceptable levels and Lake County Public Works is issuing a boil order notice.
Two robo calls are going out with information. Everyone served by the Vernon Hills system will get a general update call. Residents affected by the boil order notice will receive a second call notifying them that they are affected.
If you get the second call and are under the boil order, please use bottled water for any potential consumption such as drinking, cooking, washing fresh fruits/vegetables, handwashing and tooth brushing. Residents can, however, use tap water for personal hygiene and laundry, etc. Just no consumption. If bottled water is not available, the affected tap water should be boiled and then used.
