The sixth annual Rx for Health: Walking in Nature season kicks off soon! The first two walks are scheduled for:
- Saturday, April 13 at the Hastings Lake Forest Preserve (21155 W. Gelden Rd., Lake Villa)
- Saturday, April 27 at Middlefork Savanna Forest Preserve (1401 Middlefork Rd., Lake Forest)
All walks are from 4:00-5:30 p.m. and range in length from 1 to 2 miles. Everyone can walk at their own pace and distance.
Walks are guided by a NorthShore physician, a Lake County Forest Preserve naturalist, and staff from the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center. The walks are open to all ages, but those 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. These are rain or shine events. With the exception of service animals, pets are not allowed.
