In February of 2016, Lake County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, in conjunction with U.S. Department of Homeland Security Agents, conducted an investigation into the acquiring and selling of counterfeit items. The counterfeit items consisted of name brand clothing and accessories.

The investigation revealed Felipe Aparicio-Nolasco, 43, of the 35400 block of North Wilson Road, Ingleside, was responsible for acquiring and selling the counterfeit items. On April 18, 2016, Aparicio-Nolasco accepted delivery of approximately 170 pieces of counterfeit Nike and Adidas apparel items. Following the delivery of the counterfeit items, Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives and Department of Homeland Security Agents located approximately 1,000 counterfeit items inside Aparicio-Nolasco’s residence, totaling nearly $60,000 USC.

Aparicio-Nolasco was subsequently arrested and transported to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, where he disclosed his role in the possession and selling of counterfeit items. Aparicio-Nolasco admitted to selling the counterfeit items to local soccer teams.

Aparicio-Nolasco was charged with one count of Possession/Sale of Counterfeit Goods (Class 3 Felony). He is currently being held at the Lake County Jail on $5,000.00 bail. Aparicio-Nolasco is due in court on May 19, 2016 at 1:30PM in courtroom C-120. Additional charges are possible pending the final conclusion of the investigation.
