Members of the Sheriff’s Gang Task Force, Sheriff’s Tactical Response Team, and Zion Police Department conducted a search warrant at Windom’s residence.  During the search they recovered over 260 grams of heroin, over 180 grams of cocaine, over 220 grams of cannabis, and a firearm.

Windom was subsequently arrested and charged with:

Two Counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Class X Felonies)

Two Counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 1 Felonies)

Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (Class 3 Felony)

Following a bond hearing, Windom’s bond was set at $250,000.00.  He posted bail and was released pending a return court date of April 4, 2019, at 9:00AM in courtroom T110.

Sheriff John Idleburg said, “I couldn’t have made my warnings to drug pushers any clearer – if you think you can sell your deadly poisons in our community, you’re wrong.  Our Gang Task Force is going to actively pursue drug pushers and they’re not going to stop – so, if you make the unwise decision to sell drugs, expect to be found and arrested.”

Sheriff Idleburg reminds the public all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
