On March 26, 2019, at approximately 10:40PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a restaurant in the 26200 block of West Heart O Lakes Boulevard, Antioch Township, for a burglary in progress.  A 911 caller reported someone was attempting force entry into the restaurant. 

Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and located Zachary T. Morrison, 27, of the 26400 block of West Harlem Avenue, Antioch Township, behind the restaurant.  Morrison fled on foot upon seeing Sheriff’s Deputies.  Deputies apprehended Morrison following a brief foot-pursuit.  Sheriff’s Deputies determined Morrison broke a window in an attempt to gain entry into the restaurant.  

Morrison was transported to the Lake County Jail where he was subsequently charged with:

Attempt Burglary (Class 3 Felony)

Criminal Damage to Property (Class A Misdemeanor)

Resisting a Peace Officer (Class A Misdemeanor)

Morrison remains held at the Lake County Jail pending an initial court hearing this morning.  

Sheriff Idleburg reminds the public all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
