On July 28, 2018 at approximately 4:35PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Route 45 north of West Cottage Avenue, Warren Township, for a traffic crash with injuries.

The first Sheriff’s Deputy arrived and found a small fire in the engine compartment of the Toyota.  The Sheriff’s Deputy successfully extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher.

The driver of the Kia sustained non-life-threatening injuries.  The driver of the Toyota sustained critical, life-threatening injuries.  Both were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
