On March 3, 2019, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Auxiliary Deputy Unit celebrate at the 41st Annual Auxiliary Deputy Awards Ceremony.
2018 was a stellar year for the Auxiliary Deputy Unit. 46 Auxiliary Deputies volunteered nearly 12,500 hours of their time to the Lake County Community. This includes numerous traffic control details, call-outs for serious traffic crashes, crime scenes, disasters, and other incidents.
According to Independent Sector, in 2018, the estimated value of volunteer time was
$24.69 per hour, which means the Auxiliary Deputy Unit saved Lake County Taxpayers approximately $307,000.00 in 2018.
Numerous awards were presented at the ceremony, but the top awardees were:
Auxiliary Deputy of the Year: Auxiliary Deputy Bruce Zimmers
Auxiliary Command of the Year: Auxiliary Deputy Chief John Doherty
Probationary Auxiliary Deputy of the Year: Auxiliary Deputy Ricky Ignacio
Top Call-Out Hours: Auxiliary Deputy Bruce Zimmers
Top Detail Hours: Auxiliary Deputy Bruce Zimmers
