[ARCHIVED] Sheriff’s Office Investigating Ingleside Shooting

On February 9, 2019, at approximately 5:45AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 34600 block of North Gerberding Avenue, Ingleside, for a report of shots fired.  The 911 caller indicated someone inside the home was shot.

Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the residence and conducted a search of the inside to locate the victim and any possible offenders.  Deputies discovered two people had been shot, and both already left the residence to drive to the hospital.

Preliminary investigation shows two adult males, wearing masks, armed with firearms, entered the residence and demanded money. At least one of the two armed men shot a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old man.  The armed men then fled from the area.  Both gunshot victims were guests at the residence.

Both gunshot victims are being treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Sheriff’s Detectives and members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force are actively investigating the shooting.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Lake County Sheriff’s Tipline at 847-377-4424 or Lake County CrimeStoppers at 847-662-2222
