The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon. Two to five inches of lake effect snow is still possible along the lakefront this afternoon through Sunday evening. Wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph are expected which can make travel difficult due to blowing and drifting snow on roadways. Temperatures are expected to fall into the teens and single digits tonight, with near-zero or sub-zero wind chill values.
Traveling
Lake County Division of Transportation crews worked through the night and will continue to plow county highways until roads are returned to near normal conditions. Make sure to visit www.lakecountypassage.com to view the latest traffic conditions.
Warming Centers
Frigid temperatures are expected. With the extreme cold, consider going to a warming center if you do not have access to heat. Before going to a center, please call in advance to make sure the desired location is open.
