On January 9, 2019, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service-Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) apprehended Steven M. Klubertanz, 39, of the 35500 block of North Sunnyside Avenue, Ingleside.
Klubertanz was wanted on a $350,000.00 Lake County Warrant for four counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse (Class 2 Felonies). The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by Lake County Sheriff’s Office Detectives. In August of 2018, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of Klubertanz making sexual advances toward a juvenile family member. Following an extensive investigation, Sheriff’s Detectives determined between June and December of 2017, Klubertanz sexually abused the juvenile at their Ingleside residence.
On January 4, 2019, the arrest warrant was issued for Klubertanz and the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Team began their apprehension efforts. Through their investigation, Warrants Deputies developed information Klubertanz was likely hiding with family members in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin.
On January 9th, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants team provided the likely whereabouts of Klubertanz to USMS-GLRFTF. Members of USMS-GLRFTF conducted surveillance at the family member’s home (N1000 block of Lyndon Road, Lyndon Station, WI) and located Klubertanz at the residence. He was arrested without incident.
Klubertanz was transported to the Juneau County (WI) Jail, where he remains held pending extradition hearings.
