Following a thorough investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies determined Keesha S. Ingram, 41, of the 7600 block of South Prairie Avenue, Chicago, was responsible for making the ‘swatting call.’
The investigation revealed Ingram was an acquaintance of the targeted victim, and showed Ingram wanted money she believed was owed by the victim. The victim wasn’t providing payment, and in an attempt to seek revenge Ingram placed the swatting call. During the call she indicated a man was attempting to shoot his wife, which prompted the major public safety response.
On January 8th, a $25,000 arrest warrant was obtained for Ingram for one count of felony disorderly conduct; for Ingram making a false 911 call for the purpose of transmitting a false alarm, when she knew there was no reasonable grounds for making the call.
Sheriff Idleburg reminds the community all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
