As Lake County Facilities continues to modernize equipment at the Lake County Jail, there will be a preplanned shut-off of the water. The water will be shut-off in the morning on Saturday, December 8th. Contractors plan to turn the water back on in the evening on Sunday, December 9th. The water shut-off is required to allow contractors to add new shutoff valves, due to the remodeling of the booking area.
During this time, inmates will be provided with ample amounts of bottled water to drink. Additional bottled water will be made available to any inmates requesting extra water. Arrangements are in place to ensure inmates have water for personal hygiene needs and for toilets to be flushed.
The inconveniences created by the construction work will result in a modernized jail facility, which will help ensure the safety of inmates and correctional officers.
Sheriff John Idleburg added, “I am making it a priority to be transparent with facility improvements and infrastructure matters inside the Lake County Jail. We will share the updates in advance through a media release, on our website, and on our social media pages, as long as it doesn’t adversely impact jail security operations.”
