On December 4, 2018, at approximately 3:15PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a convenience store in the 38400 block of North Sheridan Road, Beach Park, for a report of an attempt armed robbery.
Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and learned from the store clerk that a male subject entered the store wearing a black mask, black jacket, gloves, and blue jeans. The man demanded money and was armed with a large knife. The man fled from the scene prior to obtaining any money or property.
A Lake County Sheriff’s Canine Team arrived and conducted a track of the man. The track ended a short distance away, where the man likely entered a vehicle and fled in the vehicle.
The man is described as an African-American male, approximately 5’07” and 170 pounds. It is possible the man fled in a dark blue or black late 2000’s Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows.
