On Sunday, 11/25/18 at approximately 2:55 AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Thornton’s Gas Station (34225 N. Rte. 45 – Third Lake) for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.  Upon arrival, they met with the clerk who told them a male subject had just entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the register.  The suspect was last seen running out the front doors of the store.  

On Tuesday, 11/27/18 at approximately 6:50 PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Gages Lake Food and Liquor (18495 W. Old Gages Lake Rd – Third Lake) for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.  Upon arrival, they met with the clerk who told them a similar account of the above events.   

No injuries were suffered by the victims.  Surveillance footage was recovered in both of these incidents and the description provided for the suspect was the same.  At this time, Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives believe the same suspect is responsible for both of these crimes.  The suspect is believed to be an African American male, thin to medium build, mid 20’s, approximately 5’9 to 6’0.
