On April 3, 2016, at approximately 11:40AM, a Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy was flagged down by a bicyclist. The bicyclist reported as he was bicycling, he observed a motorcycle in the ditch on the west side of the roadway at Route 45 north of Dada Drive in Lake Villa Township. Deputies responded and located the motorcycle and the apparent driver, and determined the driver was deceased.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Seth J. Goodwin, 24, of the 400 block of Center Street, Grayslake. Goodwin was reported missing to Grayslake Police Department, on March 29, 2016, after not arriving at his girlfriend’s residence as planned. He was last seen on March 28, 2016.

The traffic crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit. Grayslake Police Investigators responded to the scene of the crash, as investigators had been searching for Goodwin.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office is in the process of scheduling an autopsy for Goodwin.
