On September 25, 2018, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service-Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF), the Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force and the Zion Police Department apprehended Deshaude Jones, 40, of the 2300 block of Westbrook Street, Ocean Springs, MS, at a residence in Zion. Jones, a documented street gang member, was wanted for Murder by the Ocean Springs Police Department, Mississippi.
U.S. Marshals Service-Gulf Coast Regional Task Force (USMS-GCRTF) contacted USMS-GLRFTF with information Jones was staying in the area of the 2200 Block of Ezekiel Ave. While USMS-GLRFTF Investigators were surveilling the area, further information was gathered indicating the address Jones was located.
Jones was apprehended without incident in a second-floor apartment. Gang Task Force Detectives recovered two firearms from the residence where Jones was arrested.
Jones was transported to the Lake County Jail where he remains held on $10,000,000.00 bail pending extradition proceedings. He is due in court on October 2, 2018, at 9:00AM in courtroom T110.
