Waukegan, IL – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office concluded stepped-up enforcement of the Labor Day ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,’ ‘Drop It And Drive,’ and ‘Click It or Ticket,’ campaigns over a two-week period. A total of 125 citations were issued as follows:

Two separate speeding stops resulted in arrests. One subject cited for speeding was arrested for a Wisconsin parole violation, and another subject cited for speeding was arrested for the Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon. The weapon was recovered during the arrest.
Sheriff Curran stated, “Labor Day weekend is generally the last summer travel weekend and our priority was to ensure that everyone arrived at their destination safely. The Labor Day Campaign may be over, but our traffic safety patrols continue throughout the year.”
Funding for this traffic safety campaign was made possible through a grant provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Administration, and was administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
