[ARCHIVED] Lake County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Team Nets 1st Place in Overall Explosive Trials

1st Place Overall Explosives

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce K-9 Handler/Deputy Brian Kilpatrick and Boomer the Bomb Dog participated in the American Working Dogs & Vohne Liche Kennels 19th Annual Seminar and Certification Trials in Denver, Indiana August 19-25, 2018. Deputy Kilpatrick and Boomer placed first in the following trials:

  • Explosive Luggage
  • Explosive Building
  • Overall Explosive
  • Overall Explosive Team

Sheriff Mark Curran stated, “I’m very proud of Deputy Kilpatrick and K-9 Boomer for their success at the annual cert trials. We place great emphasis on professional training for our K-9 handlers and their partners to ensure the safety of the public and the K-9 teams.”

157 individual teams participated including teams from the U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense Special Forces, as well as international participants.
