[ARCHIVED] Sheriff Curran Announces Labor Day Traffic Safety Patrol

2018 Labor Day Traffic Safety Campaign

Waukegan, IL – Sheriff Mark Curran announced the Lake County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a traffic safety campaign focusing on impaired, unbuckled and distracted drivers beginning Monday, August 20.  The traffic safety campaign runs through Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Funding for this traffic safety campaign is made possible through a grant provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Administration, and is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Sheriff Mark Curran stated, “This traffic safety campaign is about saving lives and raising awareness that impaired and distracted driving can be fatal. Also, this campaign is a reminder to buckle up and make sure passengers are buckled up as well. If you comply with the laws, you don’t have to worry.”

Motorists can expect to see increased patrols and enforcement zones across Lake County.
