Notice of
Funding Availability
August
3, 2018
Lake
County and the Cities of Waukegan and North Chicago hereby announce the
anticipated availability of funds under the Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant
(ESG) programs for the 2019 Program Year (5/1/19 – 4/30/20). Additionally, Lake County announces the
availability of funds through the Lake County Affordable Housing Program
(LCAHP) and the Lake County Video Gaming Revenue Policy.
Application
workshops will be held during the months of August and September. Attendance is highly recommended. The schedule for the workshops is as follows:

There
are separate application packets for each funding type and, by each respective

Every project/program must
fit at least one of the following 10
goals to address three identified priority needs of A) Development and
preservation of low-cost, affordable housing options; B) General
strengthening of older, low-income neighborhoods throughout the county; and C)
Job creation and retention:
- To acquire and/or rehab existing buildings in order to provide a decent home and a suitable living environment for low- and moderate-income households and special needs populations.
- To expand Lake County’s affordable and mixed-income housing stock in order to provide a decent home and a suitable living environment for low- and moderate-income households and special needs populations.
- To end homelessness in Lake County.
- To provide direct assistance to facilitate and expand homeownership among and/or to provide rental assistance to persons of low- and moderate-income
- To revitalize deteriorating or deteriorated neighborhoods.
- To alleviate physical and economic distress through the stimulation of private investment and community revitalization in areas with declining tax base.
- To provide both services to people with disabilities and accessibility modifications to the homes, facilities and workplaces of people with disabilities, including the elderly.
- To foster welcoming, inclusive and neighborly suburban communities.
- To create or retain jobs for low- and moderate-income persons.
- To support low- and moderate-income workers in need of job training, of transportation for access to employment or of access to affordable, quality child care.
