On July 31, 2018, the Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 4300 block of Finch Court, Gurnee, after concluding a month-long investigation. Following the investigation and search warrant, Daivon Cobb, 20, was arrested. Cobb resides at the location the search warrant was conducted.
During the search, Sheriff’s Gang Task Force Detectives and DEA personnel recovered one handgun, multiple bags containing a total of 26.8 grams of cannabis, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia. Further investigation revealed the handgun was previously reported stolen.
Cobb was subsequently charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver (Class 4 Felony), Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (Class B Misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor), Unlawful Use Weapon-No FOID (Class A Misdemeanor) and Endangering the Life/Health of Child (Class A Misdemeanor).
Cobb was released on bond after posting 10% of his $20,000.00 bail. He is due in court on August 3, 2018, at 9:00AM in courtroom T110.
Gurnee Police Department also assisted during the search warrant.
Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
