On July 13, 2018, at approximately 5:15AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of West Grass Lake Road and Kathryn Drive, Antioch Township, for a report of a motorcycle down.  Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and located a 1999 Honda Motorcycle on the south side of the roadway.  After a brief search for the driver, he (an adult male of Lake Villa Township – identification pending notification of next of kin) was located in the tree line near the motorcycle, deceased.

Preliminary investigation shows the driver of the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Grass Lake Road just west of Kathryn Drive, when for an unknown reason the driver left the roadway on the south side of the road.  The motorcycle struck a tree and the driver was seriously injured.  He was pronounced deceased upon the arrival of paramedics and sheriff’s deputies.

An autopsy is being scheduled by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.  The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
