The Lake County Sheriff’ Office concluded stepped-up enforcement of seat belt, and DUI laws, as part of the 2018 national July 4th Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket crackdown. A total of 16 extra traffic details netted the following citations/arrests:

As part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket mobilization, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with law enforcement agencies across the country to target impaired motorists and those not wearing seatbelts. The high visibility enforcement campaign was timed to begin with the increased travel for the July 4th holiday.

Funding for this traffic safety campaign was made possible through a grant provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Administration, and was administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
