On June 28, 2018, at approximately 7:35 AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Eagle Drive and West Arrowhead Drive, Ela Township, for a car versus pedestrian traffic crash. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and found a jogger was struck by a vehicle.

Preliminary investigation shows a vehicle (2011 BMW sedan) driven by a 61-year-old female of Fox Lake, was traveling northbound on Eagle Drive. It appears the jogger, a 70-year-old female of Ela Township, was jogging on the east side of the roadway. The vehicle struck the jogger on Eagle Drive just north of Arrowhead Drive.

The jogger was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the BMW is cooperating with the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
