Curtis

On April 26, 2018, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service-Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) apprehended Harold A. Curtis, 32, of the 26200 block of North Violet Drive, Libertyville Township.

Curtis was wanted for Armed Robbery (Class X Felony), Aggravated Robbery (Class 1 Felony), Residential Burglary (Class 1 Felony), Robbery (Class 2 Felony), Unlawful Possession of Weapon by a Felon (Class 2 Felony), Theft (Class 3 Felony), and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm (Class 4 Felony).  The warrant was issued on March 22, 2018 and bond on the warrant was set at $1,000,000.00.  The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the North Chicago Police Department.

During apprehension efforts, Warrants Team Deputies determined Curtis was attempting to avoid capture.  Warrants Team Deputies obtained information Curtis was at an apartment in the 2800 block of Glen Flora Avenue, Waukegan.  Members of the Warrants Team approached the apartment and observed Curtis on a third-floor balcony.  Warrants Deputies entered the apartment and saw Curtis jump from the third-floor balcony to the second-floor balcony.  Deputies successfully took Curtis into custody on the second-floor balcony and transported him to the Lake County Jail where he remains held on $1,000,000.00 bail.  Curtis is due in court this morning in courtroom C-120.

Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
