On April 21, 2018, at 9:59 PM, Lake County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 0-100 block of North Waukegan Road in Shields Township for a suicidal subject. A complainant called the Sheriff’s Office and reported a 46-year-old female from Chicago left their residence and threatened suicide via text message. The complainant believed the female subject may have been en route to a business on North Waukegan Road.

Upon sheriff’s deputies’ arrival, the immediate area was searched for the female subject without success. Deputy Forlenza and Canine Dax were requested to the scene to aid in the search for the subject. Following a short track, Dax located the female subject hiding behind bushes at a nearby residence. The female subject was uninjured, and she was transported to the hospital for a psychological evaluation.
