[ARCHIVED] Fugitive Located and Arrested in Texas

Huckeby

On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service – Northern District Texas/Lubbock Office apprehended Jeffrey W Huckeby, 48, of the 1700 block of Kelberg Avenue in Hoffman Estates.

Huckeby was wanted on two felony warrants for one count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child (Class X Felony) and three counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse (Class 2 Felonies). The warrants were obtained through an investigation by the Lake Zurich Police Department.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and members of the USMS-GLRFTF attempted to locate Huckeby and were unsuccessful. They learned Huckeby likely fled to Texas to avoid apprehension.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division, through coordination with the U.S. Marshals Service – Northern District Texas, located Huckeby hiding in a trailer near the 8400 block of Country Road 6440 in Lubbock, Texas.

Huckeby was arrested and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center where he remains held pending an extradition hearing.
