On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) attempted to arrest Thomas T. Chapman, 48, of the 700 block of Franklin Avenue in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. Chapman was wanted for escape and domestic battery.
Members of the USMS-GLRFTF observed Chapman inside the residence and then he disappeared down a hallway. Task Force Members made entry into the residence. Chapman was found in bed, unresponsive from self-inflicted stab wounds to his chest. Task Force Members began administering lifesaving first aid. Winthrop Harbor Rescue responded and transported Chapman to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment.
Chapman was treated and released. He was transported to the Lake County Jail where he is held without bond. His next court date is April 19, 2018 at 1:30 am.
