Today, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Advocate Health Care teamed-up to address Lake County, McHenry County, and Kane County clergy and religious organizations, discussing violence in places of worship. The training summit, led by subject-matter experts, lasts the entire day and is being hosted by Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Libertyville Township. Hundreds of attendees are participating in the event.
Sheriff Mark Curran and members of his staff are providing clergy and members of religious organizations with valuable safety tips to better secure houses of worship and planning for a potential violent situation. Speakers consist of members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Community & School Safety Team, Lake County Sheriff’s Tactical Response Team, Lake County Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Nationally, over the years, many schools, businesses, and places of worship experienced vandalism, threats, and shootings. We have a team of experts at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office willing to assist your school, religious organization or business in planning and preparedness.”
