On February 24, 2018, at approximately 8:04 PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Grass Lake Rd, west of Bluff Lake Rd in unincorporated Antioch for a traffic crash with injuries. When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they located one vehicle with extensive damage.

Preliminary investigation shows a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by a 51-year-old male of Antioch, was traveling westbound on Grass Lake Road when the vehicle left the roadway near the curve and came to rest in the north ditch.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
