Waukegan, IL – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to maintain accountability by verifying internationally recognized professional standards.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA ®), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas:
- Policy and procedures
- Administration
- Operations
- Support services
As part of the on-site assessment, office employees and the public are invited to offer comments at a public information session on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. The session will be held at the Libertyville Civic Center, 135 West Church Street in Libertyville, IL.
The public and office employees are also invited to offer comments to the assessment team by calling 847-377-4167 on Monday, March 12, 2018 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Telephone comments as well as appearances at the public information session are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards.
