The Lake County Sheriff’s Office today announced the results of a 3-day Super Bowl Enforcement Weekend. Results include 1 DUI arrest, 3 non-traffic arrests, 1 warrant arrest and 39 seat belt citations. A total of 70 citations were written.
The Super Bowl weekend 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket' enforcement effort ran from Friday, Feb. 2, through the early morning hours of Monday, Feb. 5. The focus of the campaign was to keep impaired drivers off the roads and get more people to buckle up.
“Motorists should continue to heed the warning that we are serious about cracking down on impaired drivers and seat belt law violators. We do it to save lives,” said Sheriff Curran.
The recent law enforcement campaign was made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
