On December 24, 2017, at approximately 10:54PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Route 120 and Fisher Road, Wauconda Township, for a traffic crash with injuries.
Preliminary investigation shows a Ford Taurus, driven by a male, was traveling eastbound on Route 120 in the area of Fisher Road. The driver of the Ford lost control and the vehicle slid sideways into the westbound lanes of traffic. The Ford was struck on the passenger-side by a westbound Nissan Rogue, driven by a 58 year-old man of McHenry.
The driver of the Ford was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Nissan was transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington with non-life threatening injuries.
Identity of the driver of the Ford is pending positive identification and notification of next of kin. An autopsy of the driver is being scheduled by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit. Lake County Sheriff’s Crash Investigators were assisted by the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team and Lakemoor Police.
