Every year, volunteers participate in a Point-In-Time Homeless Count to search for, interview, and offer assistance to unsheltered people experiencing homelessness in Lake County. We need volunteers to help document the need in our communities and serve as the “boots on the ground” to connect individuals with the resources they need. In addition to helping people on the spot, the information gathered during this event is vital to understanding where resources should be focused, and evaluating current and potential future programs. Volunteers will be assigned to a team with an experienced team captain. Each team is responsible for a designated area, and will be given detailed information about specific locations to search.
Date: January 24, 2018
Time: 10 p.m. (into the early morning hours)
Visit the Lake County Coalition for the Homeless site to register as a volunteer. This effort depends on our volunteers and we need your help. Last year we had 75 volunteers who worked overnight to find and connect with 24 people who needed assistance, and we can’t do this work without you.
