[ARCHIVED] Two Arrested After Committing Robbery at a Gas Station

On December 3, 2017, at approximately 9:10PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 41082 North Route 83, Antioch Township (Citgo Gas Station), for an armed robbery.

The victims, a store employee and a business patron, were exiting the store for the night when they were approached by a male and a female.  The male was armed with a baseball bat and the female was armed with a pistol.  Both of the victims were forced back into the gas station, while the two offenders stole property form their persons and the business.

Following the robbery the two offenders fled on foot.  An alert Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy, who regularly patrols the area, recognized the description of the two offenders as being Holly C. Van Crey, 26, of the 1200 block of Main Street, Antioch, and Jason R. Haines, 31, also of the 1200 block of Main Street, Antioch.

Deputies made contact with Haines and Van Crey at their apartment.  Proceeds of the armed robbery were observed inside their apartment by sheriff’s deputies.  Lake County Sheriff’s K-9 Diesel and his partner also located proceeds of the robbery in a field near the offenders’ apartment.

The two were subsequently arrested and charged with:

Armed Robbery (Class X Felony)
Aggravated Robbery (Class 1 Felony)
Burglary (Class 2 Felony)
And Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver (Class 3 Felony)

Van Cery remains held at the Lake County Jail on $350,000.00 bail.  She is next due in court on January 2, 2018 at 1:30PM.

Haines remains held at the Lake County Jail on $350,000.00 bail.  He is next due in court on January 2, 2018 at 1:30PM.
