[ARCHIVED] Man Arrested After Stabbing Neighbor

Horton

On November 20, 2017, at approximately 4:09PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 34400 block of North Almond Road, Warren Township, for a report of a stabbing.

When Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, they found a 58 year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.  The man was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

Preliminary investigation shows the 58 year-old man had an ongoing dispute with Michael T. Horton, 63, of the 34400 block of North Almond Road.  The two began arguing around 4:00PM, and during the argument Horton stabbed the victim.

Horton was arrested and subsequently charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon (Class 3 Felony).  He remains held in the Lake County Jail on $20,000.00 bail.  Horton is next due in court on November 28, 2017 at 1:30PM in courtroom C-120.

Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
