On November 20, 2017, at approximately 4:09PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 34400 block of North Almond Road, Warren Township, for a report of a stabbing.
When Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, they found a 58 year-old man with a stab wound to his chest. The man was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with injuries believed to be non-life threatening.
Preliminary investigation shows the 58 year-old man had an ongoing dispute with Michael T. Horton, 63, of the 34400 block of North Almond Road. The two began arguing around 4:00PM, and during the argument Horton stabbed the victim.
Horton was arrested and subsequently charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon (Class 3 Felony). He remains held in the Lake County Jail on $20,000.00 bail. Horton is next due in court on November 28, 2017 at 1:30PM in courtroom C-120.
Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
