The Lake County All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan (ANHMP) identifies activities and projects to reduce the damages caused by natural hazards such as tornadoes, floods, and severe summer and winter storms. Mitigation means anything that can be done to reduce the impact of a natural hazard.

The ANHMP update was adopted by the County on October 10. So far, 70% of the communities in Lake County have also adopted the plan. But in order for each community to apply for flood buyouts and qualify for other mitigation projects, each municipality must adopt this plan before November 14, 2017.
