Sheriff Mark Curran expanded the Religious Volunteer programming engaging over 200 faith-based volunteers representing 22 different religious organizations. Volunteers provide spiritual, mentoring and educational programming that contribute to reducing recidivism and improving inmate behavior. Religious services and study groups are offered to inmates weekly, both in English and Spanish.
Religious volunteers must be pre-approved by the Adult Corrections Facility. Volunteers are certified in the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).
