Ride Lake County--Coming 2022

In early 2022, Ride Lake County, a countywide, borderless paratransit service with flexible on demand service, geared toward seniors and individuals with mobility limitations will be launched.

This will provide eligible users of this transportation option access to all areas of Lake County, for work, medical trips, groceries and more.

The new service will run from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. weekdays and weekends, with no service on holidays. Residents can call Pace to book a ride anywhere within the Lake County service area.

All Ride Lake County vehicles are wheelchair accessible. This will be a shared-ride service, meaning the bus will pick up and drop off other passengers, with only curb-to-curb service.

This change and expansion of service comes after years of work from the county and local partners, such as the Lake County Coordinated Transportation Services Committee, to create a network that covers all seniors and residents with mobility limits throughout Lake County. Ride Lake County will reduce overlapping services in some areas and expand services in other areas of the county by filling service gaps.

Ride Lake County is funded in part by grants from the Regional Transportation Authority. Local matching funds for these federal grants are provided by Lake County and Pace Suburban Bus.
