One of the primary responsibilities of the County Administrator's Office is to implement goals and strategies identified in the Lake County Board's strategic plan. Within the strategic plan, one of the top goals is to improve infrastructure.
The Lake County Administrator's Office coordinates with departments to provide an annual list of large capital infrastructure projects that could be eligible for federal funding. Lake County's Capital Priorities are comprised of projects that will improve public safety and traffic flow, spur economic development, provide clean water, and mitigate flood-prone areas.
This list is shared with legislators that represent Lake County in Congress. Millions of dollars have been appropriated over the years by the federal government to assist in funding some of Lake County's capital priorities.
