Vernon Hills (NCT) Water Reclamation Facility Improvements (ARPA funded)

Project Location:  South of the Vernon Hills High School, on American Way in the Village of Vernon Hills.

Project Description:  The Lake County Board provided federal ARPA funding for the project. With this funding, we are able to undertake this project sooner without delaying or impacting other projects in the Capital Plan. The project at the Vernon Hills (NCT) Water Reclamation Facility made possible by this funding includes the installation of new covers for our secondary clarifiers. The project will improve efficiencies, provide additional capacity and provide better maintenance/operation effectiveness.

All improvements are intended to be 100% funded by ARPA.  The New Century Town Water Reclamation Facility clarifier covers are part of a $6.3 million project spanning three water reclamation facilities.  Should project costs exceed this value, Lake County Public Works ratepayer dollars will be applied to the projects.
