21st Street Culvert and Resurfacing
Limits: Between Delany Rd and IL131 (Green Bay Rd). From Union Pacific RR tracks east of Delany Rd to west of Timberland Trail in the village of Wadsworth
Description: Replacing aging culverts just east of the Union Pacific RR, and resurfacing the road in that area. A 35-day closure with a detour will be necessary to complete this work.
9/16/2022 - 21st Street is is now open to through traffic as of noon today. Intermittent lane closures may still be required to complete landscaping work and punch list items.
Traffic Impacts: Please continue to use caution when traveling through the project area and watch for flaggers, workers, and equipment.

9/15/2022 - 21st Street is scheduled to reopen to through traffic late afternoon Friday, 9/16. Daily lane closures may still be required to complete landscaping work and punch list items.
8/23/2022 - Replacement culvert is completely installed and is being backfilled. Next up is the installation of storm sewer and other related items. After that, we will begin shoulder widening and installing guardrails. 21st Street remains closed to through traffic. The road is scheduled to reopen by 7AM on Monday, 9/19. Following the closure, work to resurface and add bike-friendly shoulders will begin.
8/1/2022 - 21st Street will be closing to through traffic for 35 days starting Monday, Aug. 15 at 7 a.m. The road is scheduled to reopen by 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19. The closure is necessary to replace a culvert on 21st Street east of the Union Pacific Railroad. During this time, the Union Pacific Railroad will make repairs to the railroad crossing. Following the closure, work to resurface and add bike-friendly shoulders on 21st Street from Delany Road and IL 131 (Green Bay Road) will begin. No previous updates.
